SparkleGram is a novel way to compose and send short messages in a way difficult for spyware to capture. It works by recognizing the way spyware captures information... screenshots and keyboard entry... and provides a method which thwarts such spying. Note that this method doesn't involve strong encryption (or anything else which might concern "a government"), so it is possible to send messages without having an encode/decode mechanism at both sides of the exchange. The following is a SparkleGram message.
Whenever you use a computer, someone may be watching everything you do. Perhaps you're at home and a parent (or spouse) is watching you. Perhaps you're at work and your boss (or corporate security) is watching you. It is possible that someone you don't know (or want to know) is watching you. Anyway, the point is computers quite often are insecure vehicles for communication.
A SparkleGram hides information from spies. Hides your text messages. Hides your keystrokes. Hides your passwords.
This is what spyware sees when it takes a screenshot (usually saved as greyscale to save space).
Simply use the Compose link at the top of this page to author a message. When done, there are three ways you can use your message...
Use the Copy Text button to populate your clipboard buffer with the text. You can then paste the secret text into any secure application (such as an online banking site) with the knowledge that "big brother" didn't capture your password with a keylogger.
Use the Copy Link button to populate your clipboard buffer with an URL you can paste into e-mail to send to a friend to read your message.
Use the Copy Embed button to populate your clipboard buffer with the appropriate HTML text for use with websites... social networks can display SparkleGrams nicely. Feel free to use SparkleGrams all over your websites to add bling.
